Will I experience an e-mail outage at
any time?
Yes. To enable this upgrade, a brief, perhaps intermittent outage
is unavoidable.
You will always have the ability to send e-mail. However, during
the normal period of time that it takes for DNS to propagate across
the Internet, you may experience some intermittent issues receiving
e-mail that is sent to you. Normal DNS propagation is largely out
of NameSecure’s control, but we are making system changes
to minimize the effect as much as possible – so that you receive
as much e-mail sent to you as possible.
Additionally, you might temporarily (no more than 12 hours) experience
“missing” saved messages and/or folders on the e-mail
server. NOTE: If you experience this, you should remember –
your messages will not be lost! They are simply in the process of
being moved from one server to another, and will be fully restored
on the new platform once the upgrade is completed.

Will I lose any stored e-mail in my
inbox or folders?
No. If you experience "missing" saved messages and/or folders on
the e-mail server, remember - this is temporary (no more than 12
hours) and your messages/folders will not be lost! They are simply
in the process of being moved from one server to another, and will
be fully restored on the new platform once the upgrade is completed.

Will my stored addresses be moved for
me, or do I need to do it myself?
Your stored addresses will be moved for you, but only some of the
data fields will be retained.
When your mailbox is upgraded, NameSecure will move over your addresses'
first and last names, any distribution lists/groups you created,
and the e-mail addresses associated with those contacts.
However, all other address book data will be retired, and will
not be moved – since very few of our customers use those data
fields. If you lose address book data that you still want, simply
contact customer
support and request a full data transfer of your address book
prior to the upgrade with ALL of your previously stored data. NameSecure
customer support will provide that data to you quickly.

Will I lose any forwarding or auto-responder
rules I have set up?
Yes. You will need to recreate them yourself in the new platform
after your box has been upgraded. To do so, simply follow these
steps:
- Log
into the My Account manager
- Click
on the domain name
- Click
on the E-mail Settings Tab
- Click
on the hyperlink, "Set up and manage your e-mail forwarding settings"
- At
the bottom of the E-mail Manager pop-up window, either click the
button to "add a forward" or "add an auto-responder"

Will I lose any e-mail filters I have set up?
Yes. The upgraded platform does not currently support user-defined
filters. That is a planned enhancement, but is not currently available
so you current e-mail filter settings will go away.

Will
I be able to access my old mail, folders or address books on the
old server after the migration?
No. After your E-mail Services have been upgraded and moved to the
new platform, all stored mail will be deleted from the old mail
server platform.
Remember - you
will not lose stored e-mails with this upgrade. NameSecure will
move all stored messages and/or folders to the new platform.
If you use Web
mail as your primary means to e-mail today (instead of POP3), you
may export your full address book including non-e-mail related data
(ex. AIM addresses, physical mail addresses, etc.) from your current
Web mail interface. To do so, simply follow these steps prior to
the migration being done:
- Log into
your Web mail interface (http://mail.<yourdomainname>)
- Click on
the "preferences" link in the left-hand rail, then
- Click on
"import/export addresses" hyperlink, and finally
- Click on
the "export now" button

Will
I need to change my POP3 settings after the upgrade?

What
URL will I use to access mail via the Web after my mailbox is upgraded?

change from "mail.yourdomainname" to "webmail.yourdomainname". After
your mailbox is upgraded, you'll need to type "webmail.yourdomainname"
into your Web browser. For example, if your domain name is gonamesecure.com
the URL address you'd type into your browser will be "webmail.gonamesecure.com".
